暴雪当初在开发这款游戏时，没有放过任何一个细节，包括游戏里的语言，都请到了大批的语言学家和历史学家，这些学者们甚至结合人类的语言历史独自创造出了一门语言，专门用作魔兽世界的语言。我们玩游戏时像兽族的语言就是太闷创造出来的。所以说，魔兽世界的确是一件艺术品。

魔兽世界用的BigWorld游戏引擎，主要还是C++吧。脚本语言是Lua。

AC - Armor Class or Defense.甲的等级或者防御(感觉防御应该是AD)

Add - An extra monster has joined an existing battle.额外的怪物加入已存在的战斗

Alt - A character on your account other than your main character.帐号中的非主要角色(可以理解为小号)

AOE - Area of Effect Damage. This is a spell that hurts a group of monsters in an area like Blizzard in Warcraft III.破坏范围(主要是法术的破坏范围或辅助范围)

AE - Area Effect影响范围

AFK - Away from Keyboard. This means the player is away from his computer.玩家离开

Aggro - This means the monsters are mad at you and you've "activated" them to attack you. They are now in the motion of trying to reach and attack you. "The Murloc aggroed on me!" or "The Murlocs will aggro if you get too close"怪物已经疯狂，正在逼近并主动攻击角色

Aggro Radius - The radius around the monsters where they will "wake up" and attack you.是怪物的激怒范围，只要玩家进入该范围便会受到怪物攻击。

Agi - Agility敏捷

Bind - Determines where you will respawn when you have died. "To Bind" means to set your bind point.重生点，设置重生点

Buff - A beneficial spell cast on a monster or player. An example of a "buff" is the Priest's Inner Fire or Shaman's Bloodlust.施放到玩家角色或怪物的有益法术效果

Carebear - Player that prefers to help other players attack monsters rather than attack other players in player vs. player combat.玩家在pvp中帮助双方攻击怪物而不是攻击某玩家

Caster - A character that stays on the back row to heal or cast spells on the enemy, such as a Mage.角色在队伍后治疗或者向敌人施放法术(象法师)

Critters - Monsters that don't attack back, like a bunny or deer.怪物不回击(象兔子或鹿)

DD - Direct Damage. This is a spell that does all of its damage in one hit rather than spreading its damage over time.指的是造成直接伤害的攻击魔法，伤害效果在瞬间发生。

DMG - Damage伤害

DOT - Damage over time指的是造成持续伤害的攻击魔法，在一定时间范围内，每隔固定时间产生一次伤害，简单的说，类似传统日式rpg里的中毒效果。

DPS - Damage per second每秒伤害

De-Buff - A negative spell cast on a unit that makes it less powerful. An example of a "de-buff" is Slow.对单位产生的降低能力的法术效果

INT - Intelligence知识

Kiting - A style of combat in which a player continually stays out of combat range of an enemy usually by running from it, while simultaneously causing damage to it.一种打法，玩家不在战斗范围但能对目标产生伤害

KOS - Killed on Sight. If an Orc approaches a Human Guard, the Guard would try to kill on sight (aggro).怪物对玩家自动攻击，参考Aggro Radius。

KS - Kill Steal. Try to steal another person's kill.偷杀(这个不怎么明白)

Log - When you log off; disconnect from the game.退出游戏

LOL - Lots of Laugh or Laughing Out Loud. This abbreviation indicates something is really funny. Unfortunately although very common, that term became uncool a long long long time ago. Other alternatives that you can use instead are "hehehehe" or "hahahaha" which aren't the best but are more hip. ROFL should also be avoided to appear cool.多次笑或多次大声笑

NPC - This is a non player-controlled character. The characters are controlled by the server or realm. A "computer" character.游戏中的电脑人物

OOM - Out of Mana. People say this to let their party know they are out of mana and can't cast any spells, especially healing.没魔力了，无法施展法术

PST - Please Send Tell. Indicates that the person speaking wants to receive communication via a /t(ell) or /w(hisper) command.说话的玩家请求指令对话(能说的清楚些)

Puller - Person who pulls monsters for the party.将怪物聚集起来的角色(引怪者)

Pulling - One of the players in a party heads out and leads one or more of the monsters back to the party so that they can attack them. The idea is to prevent too many monsters from attacking at once.引怪

通用语

通用语，作为联盟的语言，它和部落的兽人语刚好相对。所有的联盟角色都应当知晓通用语。

在所有文献中（包括RPG，小说，漫画以及早期的游戏），几乎所有有智商的种族都会说通用语，而不是作为“人类”独有的语言。已知通用语是许多种族的基础语言。作为一种国际通用语，艾泽拉斯和德拉诺大陆上不少种族的绝大多数成员都在使用它，即便不是这样，至少所有的种族都对通用语有一定的了解，并且会说通用语的某种方言。从通用语中延伸出来的方言包括：现代通用语（modern Common），不流利的通用语(Broken Common)，次等通用语(Undercommon)，下层通用语(Low Common)，贫民语(Gutterspeak)，鱼人语(Nerglish)或是上古语(Ancient Tongue)。由于许多种族都会说通用语，那些以前从未蒙面过的种族也可以在初次见面的时候就运用通用语进行交流。其他的种族语言（兽人语，牛头人语，侏儒语等）通常仅限于自己的种族之间的交流，但是那些经常会和这些种族交流或者是阅读他们的文献的人也会去学习这些语言。

Rain Dance祈雨舞：通用语中的一个专业术语，说的是在黑海岸所举行的一个节日。（精灵们另外有一个名字）（神秘之土11页）

在人类小孩出生的时候，他们的父母会给他们起一个名字。他们的姓名都有着长久的历史，并且通常会说明他们先祖的某些成就。一些人类为了凸显自己的成绩，特意改了自己的姓氏。
